This is deliberately the shortest section in the toolkit: after reading the rest once, this page alone should be enough to prompt good practice on an ordinary teaching day.

Before I Teach

Have I made my materials accessible?
Have I provided important resources in advance?
Are the learning outcomes and instructions clear?
Have I checked agreed adjustments?
Are videos captioned?
Are diagrams and images described?
Is the room or online platform accessible?
Can students participate in more than one way?

While I Teach

Am I speaking clearly and using the microphone?
Am I following a predictable structure?
Am I allowing sufficient processing time?
Am I explaining visual information?
Am I avoiding putting students under unnecessary pressure?
Am I allowing approved assistive technology?
Am I protecting student confidentiality?
Am I checking understanding respectfully?

After I Teach

Have I shared follow-up materials?
Have I responded to accessibility concerns?
Have I provided accessible task instructions?
Have I checked assessment arrangements?
Have I reported barriers I could not resolve?
Have I considered improvements for the next session?
